Love is All You Need!

Hello Friends!

I seen this image and had to have it!  It is Stampavie Sarah Kay's Sweet Romance.  Aren't they adorable?  I searched for quite some time to find the right papers for this sweet image.  What I found was that I have much more vibrant and dark toned colors.  Hmmm... More of a reason to buy paper, right?  I need some lighter colors for my collection!  I ended up finding this light toned paper by MME. I colored the image to match the paper.

I found the Love stamp in my drawer that has never been inked.  I could not have stumbled across a better stamp for this banner on the card.  The stamp does not have a manufacturer, but it did have a Hobby Lobby price tag still attached.  I used distress ink on the banner and then stamped some background text on it.  You can't really see it in the pictures.  I also added some lace, as this is a wedding card.

Copics used:
Skin:  E000, E00, E11 E13
Dress/Shoes:  BV0000, BV000, BV20, BV23, BV25
Girl Hat:  E50, E51, E53
Boy Hat/Shoes/Pants/Vest:  E40, E41, E43, E44
Shirt/Bow:  YR0000, YR01, YR82

For the inside, I used all matching papers with the front.  The scalloped circle is by spellbinders. The inside circle was white paper that I inked up and added additional font to the background.  The sentiment is by Magnolia.

I think this image has quickly made it into my favorites pile.  I hope you enjoyed your visit today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Deer Fancy!

Hello Friends!

My friend Maggie over at SCS is on the Perfect Sentiments Design Team.  They are having a four part blog hop.  I am happy to say, I have completed all four cards with this one here.  The final challenge for me was Bingo with a sentiment (link to challenge below).  For my bingo card, I picked ribbon, glitter and bakers twine.  I started this card a few times, and finally came up with this.

I had played around with my distress inks a while back and made this tag using Stampers Anonymous Mini Holidays sets.  I used the emboss resist technique along with the white stain to soften the tag.  I like the tag, but was not sure what to do with it.  Bingo!! I figured it out today.  I put it on a card using MME background paper with glitter at the bottom. The glitter is a bit hard to see in the picture, but that red is nice and sparkly.  The ribbon came from my stash.

A closer look at the tag, completed with bakers twine and a button.

Finally the inside with more emboss resist and a sentiment by Printworks Collection.  This is one of my favorites for the holidays.

I have had this High Hopes Standing Witchy Poo for over a year and have never inked her up.  I have been dying to.  I know Jeanette loves Halloween and we are in the right season so I finally inked her up.  I colored her with copics on cryogen paper.  I have no idea who the background papers are by, I found them hiding in my stash!  I used some eyelets and twine to tie add some interest to the card!

Christmas Wishes

Hello Blogging Friends!

I am trying to complete a blog hop for Perfect Sentiments that has 4 different cards.  So here is my card 3 for Christmas with a Critter.  I used a Christmas Challenges sketch which I will also be entering into the challenge.  I love the way this little High Hopes, Hope for Peace Snowy turned out.  It started out that I would make him monotone, but then I quickly changed my mind and added in some blues and just a touch of red.

The papers are by MME Christmas packs.  The sentiment is by Memory Box, Christmas Ticket.  I distressed the edges of all the papers and gave them a bit of distress ink.  The burlap in the background is from a silverware holder from a wedding I went to last week, recycle and reuse.  Everyone made fun of me when I asked if they were throwing their silverware holder

Inside paper by MME and sentiment by Stampabilities, Meaning of the Season.

Copics used:  E44, E47, E49, R81, R85, R89, BG13, BG15, BG34, BG10, BG0000, 0, YG93, YG95, YG97

Happy Birthday Maggie!

Good Sunday Blogging Friends!

Today is a special day!  My friend Maggie from the SCS PJ Girls blogging group is having a birthday!!  She is the sweetest, kindest lady you will ever meet.  She amazes me how she keeps up with all of our chatter over there and comments on all the posts!

I cased this card from Mom2n2 on SCS.  When I seen this stamp, I thought of Maggie.  It is Spring Back by Sarah Kay Stampavie.  I colored her with copics on cryogen paper.  The background papers are by Cosmo Cricket.  The sentiment by Stampin Up is stamped on canvas and frayed for some extra texture.  I finished her off with a bow, button and twine.  The bow made me a bit nervous, as Maggie is the Bow Master!

Copics used:
Pants/Hat:  E30, E31, E33, E35
Hair:  E50, E55, E57
Shirt:  YG11, G21, G94

Flowers:  RV10, RV32, RV34, RV69, Y11, Y21, Y35
Skin:  E000, E00, E11, E13

The inside sentiment is by American Art Stamp.  I used the same papers on the inside to match the outside.

Sunflower Birthday!

Hello Blogging Friends!

I made this little card for a coworker and I love the way it turned out!  The colors are bright, but yet have a fall feel in the image and the golden flowers.  I used a sketch from Seems a Little Sketchy.

I colored the image on cryogen paper using my copics.  I used distress inks around the image to take away some of the white color.  The paper is by Recollections, it is a new pack I picked up last week and it is so cute.  It really reminds me of MME paper.  Of course I finished her off with some flowers, a pearly brad and a button.  The inside was plain so that all my coworkers could put their birthday wishes inside, so I did not photograph it.

Copics Used:
Skin:  E000, E00, E11, E13
Hair:  E50, E51, E53, E55
Dress:  BG11, BG72, BG75, Y11, Y21, Y35, R00, R02, R05
Shoes:  E21, E25, E27, E29
Flower:  Y11, Y15, YR23, YR24

Happy Birthday Mom!

Hello Blogging Friends!

Today I am here with a card that I made for my mom for her birthday this week.  She loves vibrant colors, so I choose some bright pinks and teals.  I used Autumn Marci from La-La Land stamps and she is colored with copic markers.  The paper is by Bo Bunny.

I trimmed her and used a Martha Stewart punch for the edge.  The flourish is by spellbinders.  I added some stickles and jewels to help her celebrate!

Copics used:
Skin:  E000, E00, E11, E13
Hat:  BG11, BG72, BG78, RV10, RV34, RV69
Hair:  E15, E18, YR21
Jacket:  RV10, RV34, RV69
Scarf:  C0, C2, C5
Shirt/Skirt:  BG11, BG72, BG78
Boots:  C1, C3, C5, C7

Thanks for stopping by today!  I have a few more cards made that I will post over the next few weeks.  They are for upcoming weddings, so I need to wait until they have been received.

Have a great day!

Crafty Gals October Challenge!

Hi Blogging Friends!

Today I am back with our monthly challenge from a blogging group over at SCS, the Crafty Gals.  This month it was my turn to host the challenge.  So here goes...

Think Outside the Box!

I challenge you to make a project with no squares or rectangles (not even the base of a card or scrapbook layout). Since we have already stepped outside the box, lets take another step. Try a technique that you have not tried before. It is always fun to learn something new and expand our creativity. Have fun with it!

When I first came up with the challenge, I had an idea in mind.  Well after going back to that idea, I discovered that it ended up being square.  Scratch that idea.... So I had to do some thinking and looking on Pinterest.  Finally, just in the nick of time I found these cute little pumpkins.  They are not square. And I made them using medallions, which I have never made before.  Challenge accomplished!

So here are the paper pumpkins!

I cut a 8" x 12" piece of orange double sided cardstock.  I scored it on the 12 inch side every 1/4 inch.  Then I cut it into strips (1 - 1x12" strip, 2 - 1 1/4x12" strips, 3 - 1 1/2x12" strips).  Out of those strips I made medallions and then began stacking them in the following order:  1 1/4", 3 - 1 1/2", 1 1/4" and finally the 1" strip.  I finished the top with a stick, some curled wire, two felt leaves and a round tag.

Just a note, the tutorial and credit for the idea for these cute little pumpkins goes to Two Paper Diva's.

Please stop by and see what the rest of the Crafty Gals created.

Happy Birthday Barb!

Hello Blogging Friends!

Today is Barb's birthday.  Please stop by and wish her a Happy Birthday here.  She is a friend from my Craft Gals blogging group over at SCS.  She is retired, but I tell you she is always on the go and doing lots of fun things.  She is really someone to admire and hope that your retirement can be just as fun!

I had a lot of fun creating this card.  I combined my two loves, Tim Holtz and copics!!  I thought this would be perfect for Barb as she enjoys the outdoors.

I colored the image with copies and used distress ink around the top edges.  The bottom was also colored with copics, but I forgot to write down those colors.
Copics used:
Hat & Shoes:  E31, E33, E35, E37
Hair:  E50, E53, E55, E57
Dress:  YG93, YG95, YG97
Skin:  E000, E00, E11, E13
Pumpkins:  E99, YR24, YR27, E35

The background of the card was created using Tim Holtz distress inks.  The edges were distressed and inked as well.  I used the emboss resist technique to stamp some  of the leaves.  Other leaves were stamped directly with distress ink onto the background to give them depth and texture.  I layered the background as well.  I used Printworks Thanksgiving Blessings stamps for the leaves.

I wanted to make the inside a bit fun also.  I stamped the background paper with leaves in various colors of distress ink.

For the tag, I used more distress ink and stamped some different colored leaves around the edges.  I finished it off with twine and ribbon and the sentiment by Stampabilities.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:
Clearly i stamp - Fall into Fall
Crafty Mess - Distressed/Aged
Emergency Crafters - Autumn Leaves
Craft us Crazy - Halloween or Anything Goes

Until next time....
