You are Special - Friday Inspiration

Hello Friends!

We have made it to Friday once again, that means I am  here to share some more inspiration with you!  I have spent my week out in warm California, what a great change from here in Ohio where it has been frigid.  The weather was in the low 60's, but it felt like summer to me.  It is very funny how you get used to a temperature, the locals were all freezing.  It was nice to get away, but I am glad to be back and sharing some fun inspiration with you today.

I found this cute little Tiddy Inks, Celebrate Joyfully image in the Loves Rubberstamps store.  I just love her! She is colored with Copics and cut out with the Large Oval Spellbinders die.    I kept the background very simple, which was actually a challenge for me.  But I like stepping out of that comfort zone once in a while.  The background papers are by My Minds Eye.  The sentiment is from C. C. Designs - Amy R - Be Happy.  It is stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.

Supplies Used:
Spellbinders  - Large Oval
button
pearls
ribbon

Cardabilities Sketch # 92

Laura has been busy adding many fun items to the store this week!  So make sure to stop by and check out the New Items section.  I have a gift certificate I need to spend, but have been holding off so I can see all the fun new goodies.

Also be sure to come over and enter your latest creation in our weekly challenge.  This week is Anything Goes!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Blessings until next time...

Live the life…. Loves Rubberstamps Blog Hop

Good Morning Friends -
Welcome to the Loves Rubberstamps weekly Sensational Sunday Blog Hop! The Design Team has created some gorgeous projects for your Inspiration. Check out each link and leave a comment. If you get lost along the way, each stop will have a full list of links. One of the Design Team posts is the hop's Sensational Sunday Sweet Spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to be in a monthly drawing for a $20 Loves Rubberstamps Gift Voucher!  We will draw the winner of the Voucher the 1st Sunday of each month! Remember, you have until 8:00 pm CST Saturday to leave your comments!

Well, this project took a totally different turn than expected.  It started out as a card and ended up wrapping a big chocolate bar that I got for free.  Trying to stock up for Christmas now, so the bank is not broke later.  Guess this one won't make it to Christmas  I stamped the cute little Tiddy Inks, Stylish Friends image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  She is colored with copics    After I colored her, I masked the image and  used a Stampabilities Tapestry Pattern stamp with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen to add a fancy background to the image.  The image was then cut out with MFT Round Banner Dies.  The paper is by Cosmo Cricket and I have added some ribbon, and Wild Orchid flowers to adorn the image.

Here is a peak at that chocolate bar on the inside. I used a Lacy Circle Spellbinder die and stamped the sentiment, Sweet November Stamps, A Little Bit of Magic.

Here is a little closer look at the image.  I was so intimidated by this one before I started to color, but I am pleased with the turnout.  I like the challenge of a fun image!

Well, it has been one exciting week!  I now have a new niece and she is just as sweet as can be!  We also closed on some property that we will build on in a few years.  I can't wait to get started and see what our home will look like!  I also finished my dad's scrapbook for father's day.  So very accomplished, but busy week.

This week we are all featuring Magnolia stamps.  I was thrilled to hear that, as some of my first stamps to color were little Tilda's and they remain my favorite still today.  I used some black and teal cardstock to get started.  I used some Simple Stories, Fabulous collection, as part of my background.  The image, Tilda with Hawaii Flower, is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with copics. After coloring her up, I cut her out with my Spellbinders Large Circle Die and then used the Scalloped Circle die for the layer.  I finished off the card with some lace, ribbon, ticket and a butterfly.  I was thrilled with the way she turned out!

Copics used:

Skin:  E000, E00, E11, E13
Hair:  E13, E15, E17, E18
Dress:  BG11, BG13, BG15, BG49
Flower:  YR01, YR12, YR15, YR18
Butterfly:  RV10, RB34, RV69
Socks:  W0, W1, W2
Shoes:  E41, E43, E44, E47

The inside matches the outside papers.  I finished it off with a butterfly charm to match the cute Magnolia image.

Ok, now to my card for this week!  I have used a C. C. Designs Rainy Day Birgitta image stamped on cryogen with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I have colored her with copics.  I have used all white paper and used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers and Mustard Seed to add color.  To finish the card off, I have used some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, some ribbon, a hat pin, a button and a charm by Tim Holtz.  Unfortunately the picture did not pick up the sentiment on the charm, but it is "reality has limits, imagination is boundless".  I finished the edges with an EK success punch.

Loves Rubberstamps St Patricks Day or Green Challenge

Hello Friends!

I am so excited to share with you today!  I am so happy with the way my card turned out.  Ok so you want to know what the challenge at Loves Rubberstamps right?  Well it is to make something green or for St. Patricks Day.  I have to say, I have never really celebrated St. Patricks Day.  I am not Irish, so I may wear green to avoid being pinched, but that is about all for me.

Ok, enough babble.... Our sponsor this week is The Paper Shelter.  They have some of the cutest images and have kindly provided a few for our challenge today.

I decided to go with the green challenge and I added a pop of brown and pink for fun.  I love the color combo and have used it several times.  I printed the digi image, Spring Swing, by The Paper Shelter on cryogen paper.  I colored her with copics and framed her with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles.  I just picked up this die not too long ago and think it is so pretty.  I inked the edges of the image with Walnut Stain distress ink.

My card is a 5x7 and I used the 6x6 paper pack for the background from Simple Stories, Happy Day.  Since the paper would not fit, I used some cream card stock and stamped a houndstooth background for the far left side with Peeled Paint distress ink.  I think the background stamp is by October Afternoon, but I no longer have the packaging.   I then added some burlap and tulle before I added a cream Maya Road ruffle blossom.

I cut the tag out with my silhouette and inked it with Peeled Paint distress ink and Walnut Stain distress ink.  I added some floral flourishes in the same colors around the edges.  The "Live" sentiment is by Stampavive, Tina Weinke collection and was stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.  I finished off the tag with a few flowers, a pearl brad, some ribbons and more tulle.  I have seen so many wonderful cards with a cool backing and I am not sure exactly what it was.  But I had a thought... I went to the medicine cabinet and pulled out Kerlix bandage roll.  I cut off a piece and used more Walnut Stain distress ink on the Kerlix to take away some of the brightness.  That was a bit tricky as it does not hold together well.  But I managed to make it work and placed it behind the tag.

Copics Used:
Hair:  Y20, E31, E35
Skin:  E000, E00, E11
Dress:  RV10, RV32, RV34, YG93, YG95, YG97
Swing:  W1, W3, W5, E41, E44
Bird:  B00, B02, B04
Shoes:  E21, E25, E27

For the inside, I used the same patterned paper I used more from the Simple Stories, Happy Day collection.  I used a EK success punch and punched some brown cardstock.  The pink is from My Minds Eye Lost & Found Ruby collection.  I finished it off with a bit of delicate lace.  There you have it.  One of the most fun cards I have created in quite a while.

So now it is your turn.  Come on over to Loves Rubberstamps Challenge blog and share your beautiful St. Patricks Day or green creation with us!

PTT 111 - Luck of the Irish

Good Morning Friends!

Another green post for you today!  So have you gotten the green out of the closet yet?  Today we are celebrating St. Patrick's Day at Party Time Tuesdays!  The challenge - Luck of the Irish.

We have three fabulous sponsors this week.

So I created a card using Saint Patty Owen generously provided by The Paper Nest Dolls.  I printed the digi out on cryogen paper and colored him with copics.  I choose to go a bit darker than your normal St. Patty green and added dark violet instead of black.  I cut and matted the image using Spellbinders Labels 23.  The papers were kindly provided by our sponsor, The Robin's Nest.  I matted all the layers and added some twine with a shamrock attached.

Copics used:
E000, E00, E21, E44, BV20, BV25, BV29, G24, G85, Y28, YG93, YG95, YG97, W5, W2

The inside sentiment is Irish Blessing 2 by High Hopes stamps.  It makes me giggle every time I read it.  I also adorned the inside with papers and rubon's by The Robin's Nest.  The punched edge was done with an EK Success punch.

Ok, so let's see your Irish spirit!  Come on over to Party Time Tuesdays and share with us for a chance to win some awesome prizes from our sponsors!

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:
Red Carpet Studio - Leprechaun (2 shades of green)
Scrappy Frogs - Luck of the Irish
Stamptacular Sunday - To Die For
Sweet Stampin - Males
Broken Box Stock - St Patricks Day
Card Mania - Lots of Layers
Critter Challenge -Twine
That Craft Place - Anything Goes

Thank you for stopping by.
Blessings until next time...
