It is so hard to believe that the first week of September has already flown by.  I was on vacation this week and we ended it with a huge garage sale.  I am puzzled as we were exhausted after the sale, but did nothing but sit around and talk to people all day.  Who knows??  We were just happy it was successful and we rid our house of lots of goodies.

Ok, on to today's creation...  I made a little card using my Ranger (Tim Holtz) inks and markers.  They are always so fun to pull out and create.  By the time I am done, I have a huge mess on my desk.  Well, that may not be all that unusual, but it is a bigger mess than I started with.  I used water color paper and Hero Arts Design Block Silhouette stamp to begin.  I colored the stamp with my Tim Holtz Distress Markers and then spritzed them with water.  I then stamped the background image.  It is not a sharp image, but that is ok for the background.  Then I used Distress Ink with a ink blending tool to go around the edges.  I added some pearls to the background and tore the bottom off.  I matted the image and placed it on the card.

I then added a bow and a tag.  The background of the tag was stamped with Penny Black, Love Chapter font in Brushed Curdory distress ink and then inked around the edges with Rusty Hinge distress ink.  The sentiment is from the Be Happy, Amy R, collection and stamped with Memento Black Tuxedo ink.

ATC Happy Birthday!

Hello Blogging Friends,

I hope you are all well, feels like I have been gone forever!!

Today I am sharing some of my ATC birthday creations.  I belong to an ATC group within my family.  We make a special card for birthdays for each of the members.  So here are just a few for the month of July.  July is a very busy birthday month!!

The first, I  used water colors and my Tim Holtz distress markers.  The edges are inked with pumice stone and tumbled glass.  The sentiment is by Stampin Up.

The second is inked with bright colors of distress ink, then I used a background stamp with white picket fence stain to soften it a bit.  I then stamped it with butterflies and decorated them with stickles.

The last one is the same principal as the second just different colors and a multitude of stamps with white stain.  All stamps on this one are from Stampers Anonymous.

They all turned out very different, but they were very easy to create.

I would like to enter these into the following challenge:
ATCs with Attitude - Anything goes

I hope you enjoyed them.  Thank you for stopping by!
Blessings until next time...

Water Color with Distress Markers

Hello!

I have been playing some more with the techniques in the Creative Chemistry 101 online class.  I finally broke down and bought some of the Tim Holtz Distress Markers.  They are pretty fun to use.  I tried the watercolor technique with them and I think it turned out pretty well.

I first put a couple of Tim Holtz Visual Artistry stamps on an acrylic block.  I then just put some color down on the stamps with the markers.  Once I had the stamps colored, I spritzed them with water and stamped them on water color paper.  They blur a little bit, but that gives them the soft color.  I then heat set that set of images.  Then I thought I would try to spritz the same stamp with water again to see if I could get more color out of it.  Well, not a lot of color, but it filled in some of the areas "behind" the image.  Once I was satisfied with the flowers, I colored and stamped the butterfly using the same method.

To finish off the image, I used pumice stone and tumbled glass distress ink to ink the edges of the image. Pumice stone has now become my favorite color.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in the corner.  I fixed the image to a mat and put it on the card face.

For the inside, I used some more water color paper and just one of the images.  This image came out a little bit blurrier than the front, but I am ok with it.  I think it just looks soft.  I stamped the sentiment and ran some distress ink around the edges of the paper.  Then matted it to a background.

I hope you enjoyed this technique and will give it a try!
