PTT 126 - Anything Goes

Hello Friends!

It has been a very fun six months, but sadly my time at PTT has come to an end.  With summer and personal commitments, I find it best to go on good terms =o).  Before I go, we have one more challenge to share with you and it is always the best challenge - Anything Goes!  Our sponsor this week is Paper Pretties!

I captured some fun pictures of my nieces during the holidays, so I wanted to share them with you one last time.  I used MME Christmas papers on this layout with some ribbons and flowers cut with my Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die.  The red doily is actually a cake doily that I inked with Aged Mahogany distress ink.

I am sorry for the lousy picture of the double layout, I can't seem to get that right.

I used this sketch for the layout.

I want to say Thank You to the wonderful Design Team at PTT and to Jenn the owner.  It has been a lot of fun getting to know all of you and see your beautiful creations!  Make sure you stop by and enter this week's challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings until next time....

PTT 125 - Color Challenge

Hi Friends!

Happy Tuesday to you!  I am back with another color challenge for PTT!  Wow! Are these some fun colors to work with or what?

I always have so much trouble photographing double 12x12 layouts.  I just don't have the space or good lighting to do it properly.  I started my  layout with solid rust colored cardstock.  I used Reflections paper as the background and started laying out the design.  The letters were cut with my Silhouette and embellished with stickles.  I used Rusty Hinge distress ink to stamp the flourishes in the corner for some extra fun.

The pictures were taken while on our family vacation last fall in Florida.  We were hanging out in the playroom with the kiddos.

I punched out some circles and stamped random patterns and used pop dots to give some extra dimension.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today.  Don't forget to scroll up to see the other post for today.  Have a fantastic day!

Thanks for stopping by!

PTT 123 - Happy Father's Day

Hello Blogging Friends!

Today I am back with an other challenge at Party Time Tuesdays!  This week is all about Father's Day!  I have to say that I have been very blessed to have the best father a girl could ask for.  He is the one person I can go to for anything and we share that very special father - daughter bond.

Our fabulous sponsor is QKR Stampede!

If you are a regular visitor, you know I have been hustling to get my dad's scrapbook done this past month for Father's Day.  The first page of his book is usually a picture of him and I write something special for him.  This year, I decided to take a different approach.  He took his entire family on a trip to Florida this past September.  So I choose a picture of all his kids (and spouses) and granddaughters on that trip for the first page of his book.

I started with a Basic Grey background and just began adding different distressed and sewn pieces of paper, along with rags, and different embellishments.

The lace is sewn to the page and I have used a Tim Holtz ticket for journaling.

A few doilies, buttons and another Tim Holtz ticket.

I used a playing card with a G for the family last name.

The edges of the papers are all distressed and torn.  I added another tag for fun.

Be sure to stop by this week and play along with us this week at Party Time Tuesdays!

Thank you for stopping by today!
Blessings until next time...

PTT # 122 & {PIN}spirational Challenge # 59

Hello Friends!

I am doing double duty in one post today.  I hope you don't mind.  The image I have from PTT goes perfectly with {PIN}spirational Challenges, so I combined them.  So for PTT it is the last week of the month, that means Anything Goes.  The picture for this weeks {PIN}spirational Challenge is this cute little sock monkey.

Our sponsors this week:

PTT:  SSK Designs

{PIN}spirational Challenges:  Meljen's Desings & Milk Coffee

Ok, so my creation!  I created a scrapbook page using Moses the Monkey generously provided by SSK Designs.  I colored him with copics and fussy cut him out for the corner of my Zoo page.  I popped him up with dimensionals.  The papers are by Reflections.  I have added some burlap, buttons, and a banner  which is stitched to the top.

I hope you will come over to both challenges and share with us your creations.

I hope you are enjoying the extended weekend here in the US.  Please take the time to remember those that have served this Memorial Day.

I have another page from my Dad's scrapbook to share with you today.  I took this past week off to work on his book from the last year.  I didn't get as far as I had hoped, but I am making progress and will have it done by Father's Day.  Expect to see more in the near future.  My first thought when I seen these pictures was Paparazzi, but I decided on the title of Snap.  My nieces are always being asked to pose for pictures.  You can see the whole family standing in front of them taking a picture at Christmas.  Well, turn about is fair play.  They both received cameras for Christmas and wanted to take everyones pictures.  They are at such a fun age right now.

OK, so on to today's page.  I stated with a white piece of cardstock and used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick and Black Soot to ink the edges.  I wanted something a little flashy for this layout (no pun intended).  I used the Echo Park Love Story collection for the papers.  I placed one of the circles off the top of the page.  I have decided that not all pages need to be a square 12 x 12.  I have added a flourish, chipboard letters, bling and a tag inked with Weathered Wood, completed with ribbon and a camera charm.

I have been trying to work a bit on a book for my dad for the last year.  Well, it is now down to crunch time so I have to feverishly get something done for Father's Day.  Last October, my cousin got married.  Unfortunately, I was not able to attend, but my handy right hand photographer (dad) captured this great photo of the beautiful bride and her groom.  This layout will go in his book for this year.   Sorry the picture is not great.  For some reason, I struggle getting pics of a layout.

I used brown and creme cardstock as the background.  The cream was inked with Walnut Stain distress ink after being crumpled and distressed.  I sewed it to the brown cardstock and started my layout.  I added some papers from Bo Bunny Blissful Blizzard collection and Simple stories.  I also used a doily and some lace on the background.

I used a stamp I have had for years in the corner (sorry, don't know the brand) with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.

For the tag, I used Rich Cocoa Memento Ink to stamp 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.  I then used Old Paper, Brushed Corduroy, Scattered Straw, Walnut Stain, and Aged Mahogany distress ink to ink the tag.

The top of the tag includes wild orchid flowers, a hat pin and a die cut heart.

PTT #114 - Ribbons & Blooms

Hello Friends!

Welcome back to another Party Time Tuesdays challenge!  This week is perfect for spring, Ribbons & Blooms.

Our Sponsors:

I thought for a while on this challenge.  I needed to get some scrapbook pages done for my dad's book, so I decided that the ribbons and blooms challenge would be perfect!  I dug thru my pictures until I came across these pictures with my nieces.  We were just being silly at Christmas time.  I think the one on the left page is one of my favorites.  I have used Core destinations paper in black with a green background for the base.  It was sanded and distressed around the edges to allow some of the green to show thru.  I have also used The Paper Studio, DCWV and Fancy pants papers.  I used several flowers, paper, fabric and crocheted on the layout.  Embellished with pearls.  The hidden journaling card is by 7 Gypsies and the pocket was generously provided by our sponsor SRM Stickers.

I do apologize for the poor pictures.  I must have taken 50 different shots in different lights but this just did not photograph well.

I used a sketch by Let's Scrap for the layout. So now it is your turn to come on over to Party Time Tuesdays and share your ribbons and blooms with us!

Thank you for stopping by.  Your visit is very much appreciated!
Blessings until next time...

{PIN}spirational Challenge # 41

Hello Blogging Friends,

This is the second post of three I have for today, so please be sure to check them all out.

We have the cutest picture for you today at {PIN}spirational Challenges.  Look at this little cutie!

Our sponsors this week are Cardmadfairy's Card Creations and Kitty Bee Designs.  They generously provided us images and sentiments to create with this week.

When I saw this picture, I had a few ideas in mind. First, I thought how would I create a card?  Then I thought a tag would be cute as I had the sentiment and I could use some of my Stampers Anonymous images with my distress inks.  What my final creation ended up being was completely different than what I originally thought.  When I sat down and relooked at the Cardmadfairy's sentiment "Love Always & Forever" and the inspiration picture,  I thought I should grab a picture of one of my dogs.  Then I remember my favorite picture of Stella, my basset hound.  The picture of the scrapbook page below is not blurry.  The actual picture of Stella is blurry.  It shows her personality perfectly.  She is always nosey, into everything and ready to give unexpected kisses.  Hence why her nose is huge and the rest of her body is small in this picture.  Her nose was practically on my camera lens.

So I have no copics for you in this post, not one.  I went to my second hobby, scrapbooking.  I used MME, Reflections and Pink Paisley paper which is all distressed and on a black background.  The sentiment was printed on cryogen paper and cut out with Spellbinders labels 18 die.  I used Tim Holtz peeled paint distress ink around the sentiment.  I finished the page off with twine, buttons and a charm.  So there you have it!  I will Love Always and Forever Stella.

So take another look at the inspiration picture and head on over to {PIN}spirational Challenges to show us how you have been inspired.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

Thanks for coming by today.  I always appreciate your support of my work.
Blessings until next time...

Kissing Cousins!

Hello Friends!

Just a quick post tonight!  I have not had a lot of time to get work done in my craft room.  This is a page out of the book I made for my dad for Father's Day.  I took the pictures at my brothers wedding last October.  The two little girls are my nieces.  While we were taking picture of the brides and her bridesmaids, I zoomed in a bit and snapped a few of them sharing sweet kisses.

The background paper is by inque and the others are by MME.  For embellishments, I used a clear stamp to stamp the flourish, some white chipboard inked with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint Distress ink and finally a few butterflies cut out of my Storybook Cricut cartridge.  I used a layout by Audrey Yeager from Creative Keepsakes Mar/Apr 2012 as inspiration for this page.

I cut two of each butterfly and used a random stamp on each to emboss clear powder on them.  After I embossed them, I used Dusty Concord and Peeled Paint Distress ink on top of them.  The embossing powder created a resist to the ink.  I finished them of with some pop dots between the two layers and some pretty pearls.

I hope to be back with some cute cards very soon!

Thank you for stopping by!
Blessings until next time...
