Jingle-balls!

Hello!

A few days ago we were up in the 80's.  For March that is very unusual, so I thought we needed something to cool us down.  Well it has worked, the high for today is around 55.  We are having some crazy March weather around us.  But very thankful for the warmer days that we can get outside and enjoy some sunshine.

I used the distressing technique on this card to give it an older feel.  All DP is by MME.  The snowflake was cut out on the cricut and then I used liquid applique and heated it with a heat gun.  After it puffed up, I airbrushed it with blue copics to match the card.  The white stood out entirely too much on a distressed card.  The image is by Whipper Snapper (Jingle-balls).  Isn't the little guys teeth on the right adorable?  Love it!  After coloring the cute little guys with copics, I went back and used flowersoft mixed with glitter for snow underneath them and on the hat of the right snowguy.

Happiness...

Hello blogger friends!

The weather has been amazing here and I have been trying to spend a lot of time outside.  That does not leave much time for my passion of cards and copics.  But I have one for you today that I did this weekend.  I am still working on the pleats with the copics.  I was pretty happy with the way this one turned out.  I could not resist this cute little fairy.

Simplify!

Hello in blogland!

I started out making this card for a sketch challenge, but did not end up using it for that challenge.  I did another one that I liked better.  I have really been trying to get the pleats in clothes down.  I have watched several video's on You Tube and I found one that really made since to me.  It is all about the mountains and valleys - ding, ding, ding!!!  So I gave this one a shot.  I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.

I used a spellbinder die for the cut out, lace across the front and the simplify embellishment is by Tim Holtz.  He is my favorite!  I just wish his stuff was not so expensive.  The image is by Wee stamps, paper by Basic Gray & Pink Paisley.

Big Wishes

Happy Tuesday!

The sun is shinning bright today and it was so nice to get outside for a run to enjoy it.  I hope the sun is shinning where you are.  I took the copic class this past weekend and learned quite a bit about what I am doing wrong.  OPPS!  I guess you live and learn, that is what life is about.  Now I know what I need to do to make improvements.  Always pull the positive out of all situations.

When I seen this digi stamp from Mo Manning, I had to have it!  She really looks like she is up to something mischievous.  I decided to turn it into a birthday card instead of the normal "put on your big girl panties".  Many of us could not wait to grow up when we were little and always wanted to wear our mom's clothes.  So I thought the Stampin Up Wish Big sentiment was perfect.

I colored the cute little image with copics.  The image is cut out with a spellbinders die.  All paper is MME from several different collections.  I used a sketch from the Sweet Stop Challenge.

I have not put a sentiment on the inside just yet.  I want to wait until I find the perfect person to give this too.  Then I will make the sentiment match.  But just a quick look at the inside.

Full of Possibility!

Hello out in blog land!

I hope all is going well for you!  Who knows what possibilities are out there for all of us.  I bought this stamp from Whipper Snapper quite a while ago, but I have never inked it up.  I have been a bit intimidated by this image.  Well, I finally decided to conquer my fear and give it a try.  The worst that could happen is that I throw it away and start over, right? Besides, we will never grow if we don't step outside of our comfort zone a bit.

After coloring the image with copics, I found this tag in my stash.  I felt it was quite appropriate as I was able to color the image.  Anything is possible.  I finished it off with some puzzle pieces, as we never know what each day will hold for us.  I really like the bright colors, as they could cheer anyone up!

Crafty Gals March Challenge!

Good Morning Everyone!

Today I have the March Challenge from our SCS Crafty Gals Group.  Melina was our hostess and gave us quite a challenge.  I am not typically a nature girl when it comes to my cards, but I think I made this one work for me.  It just took a bit of searching for the right stamp.

So the challenge was:

"NOT LUCK......BLESSINGS!"

1. 2 different shades of green.
2. Make the sentiment a "blessings" or "thankfulness" theme.
3. A Nature element somewhere on your creation. Examples: plant, sun, flower, grass, etc image and/or use patterned paper with plants, grass etc.....Any Natural element you can think of on your project.
I want you to really go "green" on this challenge!

Well, with that in mind, I found the some green paper (yes, it has two shades of green by itself), then I searched for the sentiment.  I think this one is perfect.  Off to search for the image; I have really found myself searching a lot at Sassy Cheryl's Designs and I thought of this little flower girl.  She is perfect for this challenge and me!

Recipe:

Paper is by MME & Cryogen
Tag by Tim Holtz
Sentiment by Stampabilities
Flourish is a Tim Holtz Die
Ribbon - Spare Parts Embellishments

Patches

Welcome to the weekend blogger friends!  It has been quite crazy with the weather the last few days.  Bad thunder storms, lightening and tornados for some.  Today it is suppose to start snowing.  But as they say in Ohio, blink your eyes, the weather will change.  I hope everyone is doing well after the storms.

Today I have a Magnolia Patches image I colored up just for fun.  I used MME paper, the spellbinders postage stamp die to cut out her little window.  I edged the window with my airbrush gun and copics.  Finished her off with some buttons, ribbon and flowers.

I did use pop up tabs under the image to make her stand off the card a little bit.  You can see her shadow behind her.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!  I am off to paint some walls today in the house.  We are going to change up the color a bit.
