High Hopes Challenge # 128

Hello Everyone,

I have a few High Hopes stamps and found their challenge last night. I am a bit late and did not make it in time, but I can still share it with all of you!

I used the High Hopes Ele-fun stamp colored with copics.  This was a sketch challenge, which I love.  I like to see how many different things the talented ladies come up with.

Sentiment by:  Whimsy Stamps
Misc:  Buttons, Ribbons, spellbinders, jewels.

Just Because I Care

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hid out in my craft room today and got a lot done.  I am still trying to make a new bag, but I am struggling and get frustrated so I put it down and move on.  I may finish that silly thing by the end of the year, who knows??

I found a few challenges to enter and started from there.  I made the following card with some of my favorite colors.  I combined a color challenge with a sketch challenge.

This sketch is from Sunday Sketch & Stamp Challenge #95.  I will enter it into their challenge this week.

I received this Tilda picking flowers Magnolia stamp from Shelby over at Color of Happy a few weeks ago and finally inked it up.  I thought it was perfect for the sketch I used.
The paper is by MME ad cryogen.
The flowers are prima's.
Sentiment by Stampin Up.
Ovals by Spellbinders.

I used copics to color Tilda in blues and pinks.  I used stickles for her angel wings.  The flowers I did a bit different than I normally do.  I just dotted some color all over the flowers to give them some variety.  I airbrushed around the oval with the air compresor and copics to give it some more contrast.

Inside of card

Copics used for Tilda.

In addition to the sketch challenge, I am entering this into the following challenges.

CMC Challenge #37 - Lots of Laughts & Bright Fun Colors
2 Sisters #80 - Anything Goes
Allsorts Week 143 - It's your choice

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a fantastic week! Remember, spring is just around the corner.

Until next time...

Happy Birthday Laura!

Hello out in Blog Land!

I finished this card over the weekend, but could not post until closer to Laura's birthday which is Thursday!  It fits our weekly challenge over at SCS for the Crafty Gals.   We were to use something that shined.  Well the brads all shine and the paper is actually glittery paper from MME.  Laura hates that her Birthday is in February when the weather is cold and gray.  So I make her a bright card to help lift her spirits.

I colored the Sassy Cheryl's image with copics.  To make the background a bit more interesting, I airbrushed the oval.

Copics used:
Y00, Y02, Y04
R20, R22, R24, R27, R89
BG13, BG15, BG49, BG0000
C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, B60, 0
YR01, YR12, YR18, YR23
E000, E00, E11, E13

I hope you enjoyed this fun little image!
Have a fantastic day Laura!
Until next time!

I'm a Fighter!

Hello,
If you read my last post, you know I have been working on a little something for the Relay for Life quarter auction.  Well, it is finally complete!

It will have a card, note pad and post it note holder, all PINK for a cancer survivor!

I found this cute little instruction for a File Folder Notebook at SCS.  Here are the directions by Jenn Diercks.  Very quick and simple.  I did not have a decorated file folder, so I used a plain old folder and put some paper on it to match the card in my last post.  The stamped image is by Bugaboo and paper by MME. I used a clasp to keep it shut instead of the velcro.  I found that velcro does not stick very well to glittery paper.

So here is the basket that I am donating.  I found out yesterday instead of putting it in the auction, they felt that it should be raffled off to a cancer survivor.  How awesome is that!!

I am headed to the store to get some basket wrap to put around it to finally complete the whole package.  Thank you for stopping by!
Have a fantastic weekend!

Pink!

Hello!

My BFF is a strong supporter of our local chapter for Relay for Life.  They were looking for donations for a quarter auction to be held next week.  So she asked me to make something for the auction.  So I am gathering a few things and will put together a little basket to be auctioned off.  I have just part of it today, as I am not finished with the remainder of it yet.  I will post the whole thing once completed.

Since this is for a cancer auction, I found this cute little Bugaboo digi stamp.  They had so many cute ones, but I liked the "I'm a fighter" that came with her.  So I printed her off on cryogen paper and began to color.  The paper is all by My Mind's Eye.  The ribbon was colored with R85 copic to match the card and the circle was also airbrushed with R83 & R85 copics to match.

Copics used:
Dress:  R81, R83, R85, R89
Ribbon:  Y32, Y35, E50, W1
Hair:  E11, E15, E18
Skin:  E000, E00, E11, E13, R22, R20, B21, YG97
Shoes:  Platinum stickles

I hope you enjoyed it!  I just spent two hours at Joanns and Hobby Lobby picking out fabric for another bag.  I hope to get it done soon so I can share with you!

Have a great weekend!  Stay warm!!
Blessings until next time!

Chilly Willy Birthday!

Hello Everyone!

Just a quick post today!  I have been pretty busy and hoping to find time to get back in my craft room has been a challenge.  But I have one card for today and I am hoping for a productive weekend ahead.   The weather is starting to turn cold again and we are suppose to get some flurries tonight.  I have been nursing my fur baby, as she seems to have some issues with her back side.  I am hoping that the aspirin the vet recommended does the trick.  I feel so bad for her.

I used the sketch challenge over at SCS to create this chilly card.  The challenge was SC370.  The sketch is below.

The image is Ike by Whipper Snapper.  I colored him with copics, of course!

Muffs:  BG11, BG32, BG15
Feet & Nose:  YR68, YR65, E97
Body:  C5, C7, C9.

I finished him off with a lacy trim and some rhinestones.

Enjoy the rest of your week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Crafty Gals February Challenge!

Good Morning!

I hope everyone is doing well!  As I have mentioned before I belong to a great group of blogging ladies over at SCS.  Today our February challenge is due to be posted.  Our hostess is Lela.  So our challenge was:

"ReCipE for A VaLEntiNE"

February is the month of LOVE and what could be better than showing off our idea of a "ReCipE for A VaLEntiNE". What makes the perfect VaLEntiNE surprise? Is it candy, flowers, love notes? Let's see your ReCipE for sharing LOVE. Don't forget to add a Heart or 2 on our project.

I really had to think about this one.  Of course the first thing that pops into your mind is for your hubby.  Well, I can tell you that he does not care to get cards and does not eat much candy.  So I had to reach a little deeper and think of something else.  Then it hit me.  My lunch buddy and my BFF.

The schools in the city I work has a program called Lunch Buddies.  It is where people in the community partner up with a child from 3rd-6th grade.  You stay with that buddy throughout that period, you don't switch unless your buddy moves or you decide to leave the program.  These children are considered "at risk".   Perhaps they have a broken home or struggle in school making friends or understanding their work.  There are several reasons a child would be in this program.  We have about 15 from my place of employment.  We do visit monthly.  At Christmas time, the kids get a field trip to come to visit us, instead of us going to the school.  We get the opportunity to show the kids what we do and a different side of the workforce.  Of course, we bring in santa, have pizza, make crafts and give them lots of school supplies to take back to school.

I have done the program for several years and after a short break, I decided to join again this year.  I have the sweetest little 4th grader named Cassidy.  She is very quiet, but is finally starting to come out of her shell a little bit.  I am confident by the end of the school year, she will be jabbering away during our visits.  I decided to show her some love this year for our challenge.  She needs to feel special!  So I decided to make her this little purse out of paper.  I found the tutorial from Leigh Obrien on SCS.   I used the pink and reds Cosmo Cricket paper for Valentines day.   Finished it off with pink ribbon, white brads, a white doily, pink flower and a brad with a heart.  I then filled it with some heart chocolates.  I will see her this week, so I hope she enjoys it.

Then I thought about my BFF.  She is amazing and the BFF any girl would love to have.  It is so funny that we are opposite in just about everything.  But we find that we balance each other out very well.  I know that I can count on her for anything and she knows the same.  We don't often buy each other anything, we just hang out when we can.  We do work in the same office, but often there are days that we really don't get to talk.  So I am going to leave this little box on her desk as a surprise.  She loves sour cherries candies and can only get them around Valentine's Day.  So I filled her little box with her favorites!!  Just a little way to say thank you for being my friend and I love you no matter what!

Boy, I am quite chatty this morning.  I found this box in a bag tutorial by Diana Gibbs over at SCS.  I used basic gray paper that has four hearts that meet to make a square.  Accented it with some teal ribbon, flowers and a little heart in the middle.

I hope you enjoyed the projects for the challenge.  I know I had a lot of fun making them and can't wait to see what the other gals have created.  Please find the Crafty Gals Blog group over to the left hand side of my blog.  Stop by and check them out!

Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings until next time!
