{PIN}spirational Challenge # 36

Hello Friends!

I have two posts for you today so make sure you scroll down to see the second post.  I also have some more exciting news to share!  I have been offered a position on the team of {PIN}spirational Challenges!!!  Lots of good news to share lately, I have been feeling very blessed.

Well, you ask what the {PIN}spirational challenges are?  Each week the challenge is to look at a picture and make a creation inspired by the picture.  So this week the beautiful blue ornaments are your inspiration.

The sponsor this week is QKR Stampede.

and

So finally my card.  I think this mouse is adorable from the sponsor.  I colored him up with my copics and matted him using Spellbinders oval dies.  I tied some extra twine to the ornament to make it look like he was getting ready to hang the ornament.  The background paper is by MME and the sentiment was cut out of a paper by Me & My Big Ideas.  I used some extra perfect pearls and lace for embellishments.

Copics used:
Ornament & Pants:  B91, B93, B95, B97, B99
Holly: YG93, YG95, YG97
Mouse:  W1, W3, W5, W7
Bell:  Y28, W1, W3
Shoes:  E41, E43, E44
Hat:  R24, R27, R89

The inside I used more MME paper and used a punch by EK Success to cut out the lace in green.  The tag was inked with Tim Holtz distress inks and stamped with PSX Sentiment.

Ok, it is your turn.  Take another look at the ornament picture and head over to {PIN}spirational Challenges to play along with us.  The challenge closes Monday December 10.

Exciting news - Loves Rubberstamps

Hello Friends!

I have some very exciting news to share with you today!!!  Are you ready?

Well, I have been selected to be the Guest Designer at Loves Rubberstamps for the month of December.  Whooo Hoooo!!!!!  This is my first rodeo and I am very excited about the opportunity I have been given.  Make sure you stop by each Tuesday to check out the challenges and play along.

Today, I am sharing one of my favorite images, Christmas Eve Edwin by Magnolia.  I can't wait to ink it up each year.  I used MME paper as the backgrounds.  The image is colored with copics on cryogen paper and embellished with perfect pearls.  I used Tim  Holtz distress ink around the edges to give it a colder feel.   The brad (top right hand corner) is by Spare Part embellishments and some extra trim along the side.  I used Perfect Pearls to add some snow over the image and give some dimension.

Copics used:
Pants:  E41, E41, E43, E44
Shirt, Hat & Gloves:  BG0000, BG72, BG75, BG78
Package:  E30 E31, E35
Basket:  W1, W3, W5
Apples:  R24, R27, R89
Shoes:  E21, E25, E27, E29
Skin:  E000, E00, E11, E13, R20

The inside sentiment is by Stampers Anonymous.  I like how bold and solid it is.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Be sure to check out Loves Rubberstamps each Tuesday for a new challenge.

May ATC Swap

Hello!

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that my family is doing an ATC swap.  An ATC is a 2.5x3.5 inch trading card.  May's host was my cousin Nikki.  She lost her father in May of last year.  He was an awesome man, that no one can ever fill the void he has left behind.  We all loved him very much and miss him dearly.  So her theme for May was "Gone, but not forgotten."

Well, you could take many different avenues with that theme.  I wanted to make my look old and warn, but unique.  To start off, I used a clear stamp (don't know the name) and embossed the word love on the white paper.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Brushed Corduroy, Mustard Seed and Wild Honey.  I pounced them on my craft mat and spritzed them with water.  Then I ran the card thru the inky mess.  Don't expect to stay clean if you do this! lol!  I then took my heat gun and dried the piece of paper.  You can see how the color varies on each card.  Nothing will be the same.

After the card was dry, I used more embossing ink and used a Stampabilites Clock Faces Background stamp to stamp the card.  I then used patina Perfect Pearls to go over the embossing ink.  You see the clock faces come thru on the card.  I then took my distressing tool and messed up the edges and used more Brushed Corduroy ink to add age to the card.

I hope you enjoyed the cards!  They were a lot of fun to make and very messy.  I hope you will give it a try.

Thanks for stopping by!
