Picture sorting for all those scrapbookers!

Good Evening Friends!

It has been a very busy few days cutting down trees and getting some things organized for the next few weekends!  But I did get some time to play in my craft room a little bit on Sunday.  We have a challenge over at our Pink Slipper Pajama Party blog group each month.  These ladies are so talented and I am pleased to be a part of their group!

So Nancy is our June hostess.  Here challenge:

June’s challenge is to make some type of mini album/book.This does not have to be a scrapbook album. It can be a personal journal, calendar, inspiration book, diary, address book, coupon holder, an organizer.

Well, this is right up my alley.  I love making altered books and things.  This is a 10" x 6.5" organizer made out of chipboard and printed craft paper.  The paper all coordinates, as I bought it in a pack together a few years ago.  I simply cut the chipboard cover to the size I wanted.  Then I used mod podge and glued the design paper on the top of the chipboard.   I then sanded the edges with my sanding block.

For the label on the front, I used the Cricut and cut out the label from the Lacy Labels cartridge.  It began as all white.  That is much easier than trying to match everything.  I then used my copics and my air compressor to color it how I wanted it.  I finished it off with some rub ons.  I added some dimension to the label by using dimensional glue dots.

I tied some jute twine around the bottom and used a charm that says "inspired".

For the inside, I used a large rounded square cut from a cricut cartridge.  After I cut them out, I folded them like an envelope.  I did not fold over the top, as I wanted it to remain open.

I used my bind it all to bind the book together.  I will use it to sort pictures for my scrapbooking when I travel.  That way I don't have to take a huge case of pictures, I can take only what I want.  I can also put in other mementos that go with the pictures.

I did not decorate the inside envelopes, as I wanted them to remain flat for ease in packing for travel.

I hope you enjoyed this little project.  I had fun making it and it was super simple.  Try one for yourself!  You can put all sorts of things in those envelopes!

Thank you for stopping by!
Blessings until next time....

Quarter Auction Basket

Good Morning!

I have lost all track of time!  It has been a week since I have posted anything.  YIKES!  Well, I have been working in my craft room, just not getting things posted as I should.  This week I have been working on a basket for another quarter auction for Relay for Life.  It is Monday 4/2, so I figured I would give it an easter theme.

I included a journal (pic below), a card (to be shown in more detail in another post), some candy filled eggs and carrots.   The eggs were tied with homespun fabric to give them a little more color.

I found the idea for the candy filled carrots from Linda at Catered Crop.  I changed mine just a bit.  I added a button at the top.  The sour cream container tutorial can be found here by Beate.   Here is a closer look at just a few of those cute little carrots!

And a closer look at the journal inside the basket.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Stay tuned for more details on the card inside the basket.

Blessings until next time...

I'm a Fighter!

Hello,
If you read my last post, you know I have been working on a little something for the Relay for Life quarter auction.  Well, it is finally complete!

It will have a card, note pad and post it note holder, all PINK for a cancer survivor!

I found this cute little instruction for a File Folder Notebook at SCS.  Here are the directions by Jenn Diercks.  Very quick and simple.  I did not have a decorated file folder, so I used a plain old folder and put some paper on it to match the card in my last post.  The stamped image is by Bugaboo and paper by MME. I used a clasp to keep it shut instead of the velcro.  I found that velcro does not stick very well to glittery paper.

So here is the basket that I am donating.  I found out yesterday instead of putting it in the auction, they felt that it should be raffled off to a cancer survivor.  How awesome is that!!

I am headed to the store to get some basket wrap to put around it to finally complete the whole package.  Thank you for stopping by!
Have a fantastic weekend!

A Penny for Your Thoughts?

Good Evening Everyone!

I hope you had a nice weekend and a good start to your week!  I started making these journals a few years ago as a way to track what I was eating and my weight.  It was a good thing for me to have something pretty to go to everyday and journal what I was doing.  I made a few for the recent bazar I did.
The journal is just a recycled journal in kraft paper that I purchased at the local craft store.  I used copic markers to color the binding and edges of the journal to give it some color.  The front, back and inside covers are all covered with paper.  The ribbons are tucked in between the inner cover and paper.

This one I decorated with some gems as it fit the glittery paper.  The flowers were touches with a bit of copic air brush to highlight them.

The bluse one a bit different taste, but I used the copic air brush system again to touch the flowers and I used distress ink around the Dream tag.  Binding once again colored with the copics.

The third journal, I colored the binding and the ribbon with copics.  I did not quite have the right color of ribbon, so I made my own to match.  The tag was embossed in clear with a tim holtz stamp and then I used the distress ink and a water spritzer to cover the tag in orange.  I finished it off with a mute brown ink stamped with dots and the sentiment with a clock.  All stamps (except the dots) by tim holtz.  I love his variety!

I hope you have found some inspiration!  Have a great week!

Thanks for stopping by, I always appreciate kind comments!
Until next time...
