Inspired!

Happy Friday Friends!

Wow!! It seemed this short work week went so quick, which is a good thing... That means the weekend is here once again!  Do you have any fun plans?  We are hoping to accomplish what we did not accomplish last week.  We also have a cookout on Saturday evening to spend some time with family.  I am really looking forward to that.

Anyhow, I was feeling a bit like inking this week.  The sun has been shining and I wanted to play with some bright colors.  So I used Silhouette Clear Stamps -Trees & Flowers with
Clear Embossing to do an embossing resist technique.  It is super simple!  Just use the clear embossing ink and your stamp on white paper.  Then cover with embossing powder (clear), remove any excess powder and heat.  Once the embossing is done, you can apply distress inks and it will not stick to the embossed image.  I used several colors listed below to give it some variety.  Once finished inking, I tied some ribbon and Lawn Fawn Pink Lemonade Single Cord Hemp Twine with a charm that says "Inspired".  I hope you have been inspired to create something today!

Make sure to come and join our Doodling challenge this week at Loves Rubberstamps!  Also check out the New Items in the store this week by Some Odd Girl & MFT!

That is it for me today! I hope you have a great weekend! Blessings until next time... Athina

Loves Rubberstamps - Great Outdoors

Hello Friends!

Well today is my last day of my long weekend!  I has been nice, but I am not quite ready to get back to work tomorrow.  At least we get to have some fun today with what I have to share with you.  It is another challenge with Loves Rubberstamps!  Are you ready?  The challenge is to create an outdoor scene.  So go find your background stamps and create something fun!

Our fabulous sponsor this week is The Paper Shelter.

I had so much fun creating this card and think that it turned out so well.  I figure any cow girl or boy is a bit grungy from hanging on the range, so I choose to distress the papers a lot.  The background papers are part of the Simple Stories Awesome collection.  The image is Adorable Cowgirl, generously provided by The Paper Shelter.  I stamped the background image with the Magnolia Shabby Chic Fence and added some grass.  I also added some Tumbled Glass and Walnut Stain distress ink around all the edges.  To finish the embellishments, I used a button, twine, pearls Wild Orchid Flowers and a paper clip.  I also added some stitching around the edges to help hold some of those torn pieces in place.

Copics used:
Skin:  E000, E00, E11, E13
Hair:  E02, E08, E18, E19
Dress:  BG000, BG72, BG75, BG78
Jacket/Hat:  E31, E31, E35
Boots:  E31, E35, E37, E39
Fence:  W0, W1, W3, W5
Belt:  E99, YR27, YR24
Grass:  Well... I just start grabbing G's, YG's, E's and N's.  Sorry I did not write them down.

The inside also uses the  Simple Stories Awesome collection. I left the inside blank, as I am not quiet sure what I will use this card for.

So now that the weather is warming, let's see your outdoor scenes.  Please come over and share with us at Loves Rubberstamps this week.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping by!

Our Sponsors:

A Day for Daisies generously provided the design team with some cute images.  I am using Raining Love.  Looks to me like they could be playing Ring around the Rosie.  I printed the digi image out on cryogen paper and it is colored with copics.  The background paper is by Pink Paisley.  I used Spellbinders 21 to cut out the image and the background around the image.  The card is a slightly off center gate fold card.

The inside sentiment is by Stampabilities and I used matching paper with the front.

Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13, E21

I have had a few different projects for this Sunday and I have scrapped them all, just not feeling them if you know what I mean.  But, I finally came up with this...  A fun little gift card holder to share with someone special.  I have used a Whimsy Wee Stamp called LOVE-TRIP.  They look so in love, don't they?  I used my copics to color the sweeties up.  It is stamped with Tuexedo Black Memento ink on cryogen paper.  The background papers are by My Minds Eye and Reflections.  I finished the outside off with a few flowers, ribbon and a heart charm.  The card is actually a pocket.

The inside is cut and folded a few times and punched with a scalloped edge EK Success punch.  I added some pearls, a gem stone button and some ribbon.  I used a pin to hold a cute little sentiment by Stampavie.  I also inked the background of the sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Mustard Seed.

I don't typically send Easter cards, but I thought that I could use this cute little Bild Malarna image, Mimosa Easter as a fun card to cheer up a co-worker.  I went with bright papers by Echo Park, This and That and Glitz Cashmere Dame collections.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with copics.  I then used the Spellbinders Large Oval die to cut out he image and she is framed with Spellbinders Large Scalloped Oval die.  I used a scalloped punch by Fiskars to add some texture to the layers of paper.  It is finished off with some lace, tulle, flowers and a button.

Skin:  E000, E00, E21
Shirt/Socks:  BG11, BG13, BG15, BG32, BG72, BG78

Loves Rubberstamps - Anything Goes Challenge

Hi Friends!

Welcome back to another super Tuesday Challenge day here on my blog.  At Loves Rubberstamps we have the best challenge - Anything Goes!  Make sure to stop by and see what the fabulous design team has created and then share with us what you are making!

Our sponsor this week is The Cutting Cafe.

Since I just got my Silhouette a few weeks ago, I couldn't wait to dig in and find something cool to cut out for this challenge.  I seen this little red wagon from the Cutting Cafe and thought it was just adorable!  So I cut it out and folded it all together.  I also created a tag that is inked with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink and stamped with Lost & Found 3 Ruby Clear Stamp Set from My Mind's Eye.  Maybe the image of an old camera seems a bit weird, but let me explain!  I wanted to use this as a give away at a scrapbooking crop that I hosted with my aunt.  So I filled the cute little boxes with fun scrapbooking goodies (brads, ribbons, twine & glitter).

I tied the boxes together with some homespun fabric, attached the tag with some twine.

Just a view from the top!

I had a lot of fun with this little wagon and it special delivery boxes.  There are so many things I could think of to use this for.  Now it is your turn!  Come on over to Loves Rubberstamps Challenge blog and share your latest creation with us!

Loves Rubberstamps- Sensational Sunday Inspiration 2/17

Good Sunday Morning,

I hope your weekend is going well and that you enjoyed Valentine’s Day with your loved ones.  Today I am back with a creation for Loves Rubberstamps.  I have done way more Valentines cards this year than I ever have.  I am ready to start using some colors other than pink and red.  So here is one with still a little bit of red, but also some green and browns.

I just love snowmen and what a better time to get some more Christmas cards done. I am determined not to be rushed next year at the last minute.  So you will likely see some Christmas cards all year.  For this one, I have used Kraftin Kimmie Stamp, A Cup of Cozy Wishes.  I just love his little skirt and skinny legs.  I have colored him with copics.  The image was stamped with memento ink in tuxedo black and the sentiment with rich cocoa memento ink.  I had printed off the directions to a center step cards some time ago, but when I tried to make one, it did not work for some reason.  I set it aside.  But today, I can say I accomplished the center step card.  I like the way the image looks on this style of fold.  The image was finished off with some sparkle tinsel by American Crafts.  The background papers are Simple Stories Handmade Holiday. I also added part of a crocheted doily and a button to finish it off.

Copics used:
Sweater/Boots:  E21, E25, E27, E39
Scarf:  E50, E53, E55
Skirt:  YG93, YG95, YG97
Snowman:  W00, W1
Cup:  E50, E53, Y97, R89, R27

The inside sentiment is by Brother Sister Designs.

Make sure to stop by the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration blog for a chance to win some blog candy to Loves Rubberstamps store.  Laura has some great new images and products!

Loves Rubberstamps - Sensational Sunday Inspiration 2/10

Hello Friends!

Valentines Day is just a few days away.  Are you ready?  I am back today with a Sensational Sunday Inspiration card for Loves Rubberstamps.  You have to stop over there and see all the great inspiration projects today.  They are amazing!

I think this is probably my favorite card that I have done for Valentines Day.  I have used My Mind's Eye, Lost & Found Ruby collection for the background.  The dark gray was cut down the center and the sides folded back.  The pack is double sided, so I got a cute design on the edges that were folded down.  I added some trim, bow, brads and twine to embellish around the image.  I also used a prima flower and a Hero Arts stamp for the sentiment.  The image, Little Ladybug by Saturated Canary, is stamped with memento ink on cryogen paper.  The edges are inked with weathered wood distress ink.  The antenna and dress are highlighted with stickles.

Copics used:
Hair:  E34, E50, E53, E57
Skin:  E000, E00, E21, R20
Dress: R20, R24, R29, R39
Balls:  C0, C3, C7

I followed the same pattern inside with the paper.

Come on over to the Loves Rubberstamps inspiration blog and leave a comment for the very talented design team.  By doing so, you will be entered into a chance of winning a voucher to the Loves Rubberstamps Store.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Loves Rubber Stamps - Have a Heart

Good Morning,
I am back with three more challenges for you today.  Please be sure to check out the other two posts and come to play along with us!

This weeks challenge at Loves Rubberstamps is Have a Heart.  All you have to do is have a heart on your creation, easy peasy!  We have a fabulous sponsor, Kenny K, who provided images for us to use.  Now, I have to admit, the image I used is a bit out of my normal.  However, I have learned that you will not grow if you don’t try something new.  So here goes….

Again stepping away from my normal square card, I have created a tag that I can use with a Valentines gift basket I plan to donate to a quarter auction for Relay for Life.  For the tag, I have used a kraft tag and inked around it with black soot distress ink.  I cut out My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline paper to add to the tag.  I distressed it and sewed it to the kraft tag.  Believe it or not, I do not have a heart die.  Well, I have a cricut cartridge that has a heart, but my cricut is buried right now.  So I just cut out my own heart.  I dry embossed it with a Tim Holtz alterations folder.  The image is Kenny K’s Sexy Cupid.  I colored her with my copics and rough cut her out.  I really liked her once I was done!  The tag was finished with some ribbon, a key charm and a WhiWhimsymsy sentiment.

Copics used:
 Skin:  E000, E00, E11, E13
Hair:  E39, E30, E35, E39
Outfit:  BG11, BF72, BG78, R24, R27, R89
Boots:  W00, W3, W5, W7
Wings:  W00, W1, W2, 0
Arrows:  E30, E35 C3, C5

Ok, so now it is your turn! Come on over to LovesRubberstamps Challenge and play along with us!
