Feelin Groovy?

Happy Saturday Blogging Friends!

The weekend is finally here. Are you Feelin Groovy today?  I am back with another ATC for the month of September.  My family has a group of us that trade ATC's each month.  We have a host each month and this month it was Emily.  She is the youngest in our group, still in junior high.  Her theme this month was Feelin Groovy.

Well, I think of tie dye when I think of Feelin Groovy.  So I broke out my distress inks and went to town inking up by 2.5" x 3.5" ATC.  I used some white picket fence stain to add some dotted swirls to the top of the ink and give it a softer feel.  I then stamped the card with heart stamp from Stampers Anonymous Urban Chic collection.

Great challenge by Emily!  I can't wait to see what the other in the group have created.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Blessings until next time!

Fall Pumpkins!

Hello Friends!

Today I have a fun fall Tilda card to share with you.  I got inspiration for the layout from Jenny Pete.  I loved the country feel of her card.  Fall is finally here so I pulled out my fall stamps and started coloring.  After I colored Tilda with Pumpkins, I decided to do a cracked glass technique to make the card look a little more rustic.  What do you think?

The paper is by MME and I distress it.  The background layer is stitched around the edges.  The image is colored on cryogen paper.  The flourish is a spellbinders die.  I finished her off with four brads around the outside perimeter of the card.

Here is the colored image before the cracked glass technique:

Here is the image after the cracked glass technique:

Fall Mums!

Hello Blogging Friends!

Today I have another copic colored creation to share.  One of the ladies in my blogging group wished I would post more with the copics.  I guess I wore out old Tim =-).  Anyhow, here is a card I made for my DH's grandma.  She is a sweet lady who will be 93 in just a few weeks.  I am safe to post, as she does not read my blog.

With fall in the air, I thought this pail of mums by Designed 2 Delight would be perfect.  She loves the pinks and burgundy colors, so it was easy to start coloring.  The pot, I colored to be copper using E17, E15, E11, E02 & E00.  The accent is in YR35, YR23, YR15 & YR13.  The flowers are colored using R89, R95, R83 & R81, leaves in W5, YG97, YG95, YG93 & YG00.  The outside of the image is inked with distress ink to provide some depth.

I used MME paper on the card in just a simple pattern. I hope she likes it!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the nice fall day!

Blessings until next time....

Crafty Gals September Challenge

Hello Friends!

Welcome back to another Crafty Gals Monthly Challenge.

Hostess: Jeanette

“Get Punchy”

I absolutely love creative punch art! (Have you seen my Pinterest Punch Art Board?) I know not everyone loves punch art, but I do. I also know that a lot of us don’t have many punches. Therefore I’m not going to make this challenge too difficult.

The Simple Plan: Make a card using a punch somewhere on it. Easy Peasy!

The Advanced Plan: Make a card where you use punches to make something they were not originally intended for. For example: Use oval punches to make a frog, use circle punches to make a snowman, use the stocking punch to make a stick horse, use a heart punch to make a Christmas tree, use a variety of punches to make a chef or witch or elephant, etc.

Well, I have to say, this was definitely a challenge for me.  My punches are mostly border punches and I the punch art just does not fit with me for some reason.  So I racked my brain and I am not sure if I got this challenge or not.  I did use a border punch and the cricket.

I made a gift card holder, as it is something I knew I could give away.  I don't typically give cards to children, so I did not feel right making an animal of any kind.  I found a cute version of a gift card holder over at myhappyplace.typepad.com, so I decided to CASE it.   I did add my own touches, mainly the flower.

So I used a 4" x 6 3/4" piece of cardstock.  I scored it at 1 3/4" and 4 3/4" and folded it.  Once folded, I used the border punch to make a nice edge on the top.  I then cut coordinating paper to cover the front.  For the flower, I used six flowers (three different sizes).  They started out as white cardstock and I used distress inks to color them up in a shade of pink and purple.  I then used some browns to stamp script on a few and I embossed a few for different textures. Then heat set them so the ink would not be removed.  After all of the flowers were ready to go, I lined them up and put a brad thru them.  Squirted them with water and wadded that flower into a ball.  Then unball the flower and shape as desired.  I attached the flower to a band that was also border punched.  I love the way the flower turned out.  So much texture and it is very unique.  I will be making more of these in the future.

So what did the other ladies in the group make?  Stop by and visit them to find out!!!

Happy Birthday Nancy!

Good Day Blogging Friends!

I have been a bit slow lately with lots going on!  It looks like September will be yet another busy month!

Today, Nancy is celebrating a birthday!!!  She is a friend from our PJ Girls group over at SCS.  Please stop by and leave her some birthday wishes.

I made this card for her!  I used a Fred She Said digi image printed on cryogen paper.  I colored it with copies.  For the life of me, I can't find my list of colors used as my room is a disaster right now.  I came back from a scrapbooking trip with my aunt on Tuesday and I have put nothing away.  I added some extra stickler to the flowers to give them some shine.  I finished off the image with distress inks for the brown and blues.  The paper is by MME.

The sentiment is by The Greeting Farm.  The inside matches the outside with a little ribbon to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Nancy, I hope you have a fantastic day!!

Blessings until next time...
