Party Time Tuesdays #109 Anything Goes

Hi Friends!

I am back today with another challenge for Party Time Tuesdays!  This week is an easy one - Anything Goes!  So come on over and show us what you are working on.

Since we are doing anything goes, I decided to switch it up a bit.  Again, I did not use my copics,   I made this altered wood wall hanging for my mother in law.  My husband asked me to make it for her, so he agreed to go to Hobby Lobby to help me pick out the wooded and cardboard letters to spell QUILT.  We originally picked out matching style of letters, but decided to get a bit funkier.  So he sat in the floor of Hobby Lobby while I handed him different letter styles.  Then we would arrange them until we decided on a final layout for them.

So once I got them home, I used a variety of items to decorate them.  For the Q (in the very background, I used My Mind's Eye papers and tim holtz distress ink.  I tore the paper and then inked the edges.  I attached the paper in various directions with mod podge.  I love that stuff!  Then I finished the Q with a crocheted doily for the leg of the letter.

I cut out more paper and mod podged it onto the U.  Once it dried, I used various stamps from Stampers Anonymous, XXX set.  I also used some distress embossing powder in a few places.  To finish it off, I tied some twine with a spool of thread on one side and tied some material to the other side.  All edges were inked with distress ink.

I covered the background with some more matching paper.  This paper has a yard stick on it, appropriate for a quilting theme.  I attached some lace to the top and bottom with a sewing machine button.  For the middle, I tied some twine around it and used the twine to hang a little pair of scissors.

I think the L is my favorite letter of all.  I added some paper and then used distress inks to stamp with the same stamp set.  I also used a hounds tooth background stamp on the edges.  I love that stamp, but I haven't come up with many ways to use it just yet.

Since the T could easily be used for a bolt of fabric, I cut some fabric and wrapped it around the long part of the T.  I pinned it with a crystal pin and tucked the ends in.

This was a lot of fun to put together.  I did have to make a few trips to Hobby Lobby since I did not like how a few of the letters turned out originally.  But in the end, I was happy with the result.

Loves Rubberstamps Challenge - Create a Tag or Have a Tag on your Project

Hello Blogging Friends!

This is my third post for today and you will see that I have not made a card at all to share with you today, so you are in for a treat - check out all three posts to see what I have made.

What a fun challenge we have for you at Loves Rubberstamps this week – Tags or Tag on a Project!  Tags are right up my alley, so what fun it was to create one that I can use on a scrapbook layout in the future.  I say that because I know I will use the tag with this picture below.  I just need to get the pictures printed, that is always an issue with me.  But I can tell you that Wal-mart loves me when I put the picture order in, it’s usually huge.  So this picture is of my nieces at Christmas.  They received whoopee cushions in their stockings and had such a ball having mom and dad blow them up so they could crush them.  They giggled so hard!

So for this tag, I didn’t even touch my copics.  Nope, not one!  I used the Tim Holtz distress inks, rock candy crackle paint and distress stains on top of a Kraft tag.  I used My Minds’s Eye Lost and Found 3 clear stamps to help create the background.

Distress Inks used:
The sentiment is stamped with Archival Black ink and is by Stampabilities.   I finished the tag off with some ribbon and trims for fun.  If you haven’t given the distress inks a try, you really should.  It is like you get lost in them and before I know it my desk is covered.

Come on over to Loves Rubberstamps and share your tags with us!

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps - Use Kraft
Robyns Fetish - Use Ribbon or Twine
Hotshot Craft - Anything but a card

{PIN}spirational Challenge # 46

Welcome back to my blog!  I hope you are having a great day!

So here is the image for {PIN}spirational Challenges this week!  I just love how sweet this image is.

Our sponsors this week:

I am using the digi image I Love You This Much generously provided by Fred She Said.    The image is printed on cryogen paper and colored with copics.  The background papers are by Echo Park, This & That.  I decided that this image would be really cute on a chipboard bookmark. So I cut out a few pieces of kraft cardstock with a Spellbinders Scalloped Oval die.  I also cut out the background paper with the same die.  I taped all the layers together and put a ribbon in the middle, forming a bookmark.  Now, I know not a lot of people use bookmarks these days with the Nooks & Kindles, but we all still have cookbooks or other books we use, right?

I have used the following copics:
Skin:  E000, E00, E11
Hair:  E02, E08, E09, YR27
Dress:  E40, E41, E43 (and a little bit of stickles)
Shoes:  E41, E43, E44
Ok, now it is your turn.  How does this picture speak to you?  Come on over and show us at {PIN}spirational Challenges!  We would love to see your beautiful creations!

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:
Robyns Fetish - Use Ribbon or Twine
Hotshot Craft - Anything but a card

Loves Rubberstamps - Sensational Sunday Inspiration 2/24

Hello Friends!

I am sure all of us have a BFF that we share all of our secrets with.  I know I sure do and I don't know what I would do without her in my life.  Today I want to share a fun card for Loves Rubberstamps Sensational Sunday Inspiration post, a tribute to all our BFF's!

I have used an adorable image by Make it Crafty, Girls Secret Swing.  It is stamped with memento ink on cryogen paper.  I actually had the card base made some time ago to use with a different card, but it just didn't work out the way I had planned.  So as I was coloring this image with my copics, I thought this would be a great background for this card.  I ended up making it into an easel card, added some banners, a bow and some cute little butterflies.  I purchased a silhouette machine a few weeks ago, so I have been trying it out.  You will likely see more out of that fun little machine in the future.  I also used a EK success punch to add a border to help the card stand up.  The sentiment is by The Greeting Farm. I also used a spellbinders, elegant post die to make the swing look like it is hanging.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13
Hair:  E21, E25, E27, E29;  E30, E33, E35, E39
Shirt:  RV21, RV23, RV35, RV29
Shorts/Shoes: BG11, BG72, BG75
Dress/Shoes:  Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17
Rope:  E41, E44
Swing:  W1, W3, W5

Make sure to stop over to the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration blog and see what the rest of the amazing design team has created.  Just for leaving a comment, you will be entered to win a voucher for the Loves Rubberstamps store.

Loves Rubberstamps - Lots of Layers

Hello Friends!

What fun the challenge is over at Loves Rubberstamps this week!  It is Lots of Layers!  I love thick, dimensional layered cards.  So this challenge is right up my alley.  Our sponsor this week is Birdie Brown.  They generously provided us some images to work with this week.

I have chosen Girl with a Rose and colored her up with my copics on cryogen paper.  I decided to do a vertical joy fold card for this challenge, lots of opportunity for layers.  I cut the image out with Spellbinders Labels 26 and also folded in half my background to cut with the same die.  I was careful not to cut the top of the folded paper, to create the flap on the card.  The bottom was folded up and the edges of the paper were punched with Fiskers scallop border punch.  I chose the Simple Stories, Summer Fresh paper pack on this card.  I loved the fresh, fun papers to choose from.  The sentiments were stamped with black tuxedo memento ink and are from the Fiskars Make a Wish clear stamp set.  I also inked all the edges with brushed corduroy distress ink.

Copics used:
Dress:  B91, B95, B97
Skin:  E000, E00, E11

Hair:  E29, E30, E35, E39
Shoes:  W3, W5, W7
Socks:  W0, W1

Ok, so you have seen all my layers, now I want to see yours!  Come on over to LovesRubberstamps and share your layers with us.

Party Time Tuesday Challenge # 108 - Color

Hello Friends!

Today’s Party Time Tuesdays challenge is a color challenge.  I love reds, blacks and whites together, so this was a fun challenge for me.

I have used My Mind’s Eye papers on a black background.  The image, Magnolia, Lady Bug Tilda, was stamped on cryogen paper and cut out with My Favorite Things round banner die.  I kept this card very simple with just a Sizzix Flourish #10, some perfect pearls, stickles and button with a little tulle behind it.

Copics used:
Skin:  E000, E00, E11
Pants/Hat:  T0, T1, T3, T5
Jacket:  R24, R27, R89
Heart:  R24, R27, R89, W1, 0
Hair:  E30, E35, E39

I did not finish the inside of the card, as I am not sure who will get this one. Once I decide that, I will add the sentiment.

Loves Rubberstamps- Sensational Sunday Inspiration 2/17

Good Sunday Morning,

I hope your weekend is going well and that you enjoyed Valentine’s Day with your loved ones.  Today I am back with a creation for Loves Rubberstamps.  I have done way more Valentines cards this year than I ever have.  I am ready to start using some colors other than pink and red.  So here is one with still a little bit of red, but also some green and browns.

I just love snowmen and what a better time to get some more Christmas cards done. I am determined not to be rushed next year at the last minute.  So you will likely see some Christmas cards all year.  For this one, I have used Kraftin Kimmie Stamp, A Cup of Cozy Wishes.  I just love his little skirt and skinny legs.  I have colored him with copics.  The image was stamped with memento ink in tuxedo black and the sentiment with rich cocoa memento ink.  I had printed off the directions to a center step cards some time ago, but when I tried to make one, it did not work for some reason.  I set it aside.  But today, I can say I accomplished the center step card.  I like the way the image looks on this style of fold.  The image was finished off with some sparkle tinsel by American Crafts.  The background papers are Simple Stories Handmade Holiday. I also added part of a crocheted doily and a button to finish it off.

Copics used:
Sweater/Boots:  E21, E25, E27, E39
Scarf:  E50, E53, E55
Skirt:  YG93, YG95, YG97
Snowman:  W00, W1
Cup:  E50, E53, Y97, R89, R27

The inside sentiment is by Brother Sister Designs.

Lady Anne has a few different challenges running and you have a month to enter!  So get some free images, get started on your Christmas cards and come share them with us!

Our sponsor this month is Stamp N Doodle

So here is my first card for the design team.  The image, Christmas Choir 2, was generously provided by Stamp N Doodle.  It gave me a chuckle when I first seen it.  The girl in the middle is just singing her heart out.  I decided to take the "Dream" approach with this image.  Perhaps she sings really well and this is the first time anyone has heard her?  Who knows?  But I want to think positively!

I printed the image on cryogen paper and colored it with my copics.  I cut out the image and framed it with Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles die cut.  The card is a gate fold card adorned with Cosmo Cricket and creative image papers.  I added some lace, burlap a Tim Holtz ticket and a button.  The sentiment is by Stampabilites.

Copics used:
Skin:  E000, E00, E11, E13, E21
Hair:  E50, E53, E57, C3, C5, C7
Robes: R24, R27, R89, W00, W1, W3
Greenery:  YG93, YG95, YG97, 0
Books:  E50

The inside has sheet music paper with additional burlap and a tag.  The tag is inked with Tim Holtz walnut stain distress ink. The sentiment is by Printworks and I think fits the front well (Always leave a little room in your Holidays for Miracles).

PJ Girls Secret Sister Swap - Thanks Jackie!

Hello Friends!

Happy Valentines Day to you!!  I hope you had a great day!  Mine was very busy at work as I am working on a large project that has to be completed by the first of March.  But, my day took a drastic turn when I got home and had tulips on the counter and this wonderful box from Jackie, my Valentines Secret Sister.

The box was huge!!!!  I opened it and kept pulling out all kinds of goodies.  I am telling you, she made me the most awesome things.  So just for the record, Jackie created all the beautiful items I am about to show you.  I can not take any credit, but I am sharing because I know you will love them too.

Here is a picture of the items in the package.
(tote, fabric, stamps, rub ons, pens, lace, note pad, flock, boxes, calendar, plaque and brads)

Here are the handmade items.

This adorable little hat had pink buttons in it!

The flower was made of fabric and had lots of layers!!!  I know just how to use it, it will go in my scrapbook!

This flower is made of a recycled beer can.  Very cool!

A little gift wrap.

Another little container decorated just beautifully!  Aren't her flowers just georgeous?

This paint can was decorated and filled with chocolate! YUMMY!

This owl is going to work with me tomorrow!

Look at this amazing exploding box!  I have seen these, but never made one.  She has inspired me.  It is beautiful!

So many details inside the box! WOW!

And after all that, I feel so spoiled.  I had a beautiful handmade card with a nice note inside.

Thank you so much Jackie!  It was wonderful to come home to such a wonderful surprise today!  You don't know what it means to me =-).

Loves Rubberstamps Challenge - All About Love

Good Morning,

I am back with three more challenges for you today.  Please be sure to check out the other two posts below and come to play along with us!

This weeks challenge at Loves Rubberstamps is All About Love.   What a perfect challenge being that Valentines Day is Thursday.  So show us some love!  We have a fabulous sponsor, Eureka Stamps.

I had a little paint container sitting around that originally had some flowers I had purchased in it.  I have been wanting to alter it at some point, so there is no time like the present.  I used some pink Fancy Pants paper and covered the outside of the pail.  I trimmed it with two different kinds of lace.  I added a dryer sheet flower to the top adorned with some silver stickles and a brad.  The flower was colored with Festive Berries Distress reinker added to some water.

I stamped the image, Devilish Lucy by C. C. Designs, on cryogen paper with memento ink.  After I colored the image with my copics, I put the image on a tag.  I finished off the project with some fun pink and white ribbon around the handle to add some love to it.  I randomly added two hearts with a button to the front.  I plan to fill this cutie with chocolate and use this as a give away at an upcoming crop.

Copics used:
Dress:  R81, R82, RV32
Shoes:  E30, E31, E35
Hair:  E29, E30, E35, E39
Skin:  E000, E00, E11

Ok, so now it is your turn! Come on over to LovesRubberstamps Challenge blog and show us some love with your project!
