Hello Friends!
I am so excited to share with you today! I am so happy with the way my card turned out. Ok so you want to know what the challenge at Loves Rubberstamps right? Well it is to make something green or for St. Patricks Day. I have to say, I have never really celebrated St. Patricks Day. I am not Irish, so I may wear green to avoid being pinched, but that is about all for me.
Ok, enough babble.... Our sponsor this week is The Paper Shelter. They have some of the cutest images and have kindly provided a few for our challenge today.
I decided to go with the green challenge and I added a pop of brown and pink for fun. I love the color combo and have used it several times. I printed the digi image, Spring Swing, by The Paper Shelter on cryogen paper. I colored her with copics and framed her with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles. I just picked up this die not too long ago and think it is so pretty. I inked the edges of the image with Walnut Stain distress ink.
My card is a 5x7 and I used the 6x6 paper pack for the background from Simple Stories, Happy Day. Since the paper would not fit, I used some cream card stock and stamped a houndstooth background for the far left side with Peeled Paint distress ink. I think the background stamp is by October Afternoon, but I no longer have the packaging. I then added some burlap and tulle before I added a cream Maya Road ruffle blossom.
I would like to enter this in the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps - Bring on Spring (flowers)
Creative Inspirations Paint- Go Green
Cupcake Inspirations # 201
Gingerloft Challenge - Green
No Matterwhich - Anything Goes
Pan Pastel UK - Girly Theme

Card Makin Mamas - Go Green

I just picked up this die not too long ago and think it is so pretty. I inked the edges of the image with Walnut Stain distress ink.
My card is a 5x7 and I used the 6x6 paper pack for the background from Simple Stories, Happy Day. Since the paper would not fit, I used some cream card stock and stamped a houndstooth background for the far left side with Peeled Paint distress ink. I think the background stamp is by October Afternoon, but I no longer have the packaging. I then added some burlap and tulle before I added a cream Maya Road ruffle blossom.
I cut the tag out with my silhouette and inked it with Peeled Paint distress ink and Walnut Stain distress ink. I added some floral flourishes in the same colors around the edges. The "Live" sentiment is by Stampavive, Tina Weinke collection and was stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink. I finished off the tag with a few flowers, a pearl brad, some ribbons and more tulle. I have seen so many wonderful cards with a cool backing and I am not sure exactly what it was. But I had a thought... I went to the medicine cabinet and pulled out Kerlix bandage roll. I cut off a piece and used more Walnut Stain distress ink on the Kerlix to take away some of the brightness. That was a bit tricky as it does not hold together well. But I managed to make it work and placed it behind the tag.
Copics Used:
Hair: Y20, E31, E35
Skin: E000, E00, E11
Dress: RV10, RV32, RV34, YG93, YG95, YG97
Swing: W1, W3, W5, E41, E44
Bird: B00, B02, B04
Shoes: E21, E25, E27
For the inside, I used the same patterned paper I used more from the Simple Stories, Happy Day collection. I used a EK success punch and punched some brown cardstock. The pink is from My Minds Eye Lost & Found Ruby collection. I finished it off with a bit of delicate lace. There you have it. One of the most fun cards I have created in quite a while.
So now it is your turn. Come on over to Loves Rubberstamps Challenge blog and share your beautiful St. Patricks Day or green creation with us!
